Speaking further, he made it clear that he campaigned and strategized with his team before the presidential election. He said that after he was declared the winner, he started to prepare his speech with his team.

“The day I was declared the winner, I fell almost sick with joy. Few friends visited me rejoicing so I asked the question, you asked me to bring this trophy, this victory, what do you do with it? I brought it. I won. We must change Nigeria with it.”

President Tinubu also made it clear that the pronouncement that ‘fuel subsidy is gone’ wasn’t initially planned but he got the courage to make the pronouncement when he got on the podium to deliver his inaugural speech.
