Nigerians jubilate over Tinubu’s suspension of CBN Governor Emefiele

Nigerians are jubilating over the suspension of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele by President Bola Tinubu.

The president ordered Emefiele’s suspension on Friday evening sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.

Emefiele was directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of the investigation and the reforms.

Reacting to Emefiele’s suspension, Nigerians took to Twitter to hail the president for doing a good job.

According to Ikpe Nyong, “One decision Mr President has made so far and all Nigerians are happy and excited about it, kudos Mr President on this. That guy acted on impunity and made poor financial decisions that ruined Nigeria’s economy and further deepen our inflation level. He should be arrested too.”

Tinubu meets traditional rulers

President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with representatives of traditional rulers from across the country at the Old Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting, which is said to be part of President Tinubu’s consultations with various stakeholders across the country, is expected to be discussing sundry issues, including how to achieve national healing and the unity of the country.

In his opening remarks, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’adu Abubakar, who led his colleagues to the meeting, said the traditional rulers visited the President to congratulate him and to assure him they would be supporting him in the huge task of running the nation.

He noted that the council of traditional rulers is replete with professionals from various fields of human endeavour, making the council a useful pool for the President to draw expertise from, adding that they will be ready to always answer his calls whenever he needs their services.

Zulum Reads Riot Act To Medical Staff Over Poor Service Delivery

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum, has threatened to take disciplinary actions against medical workers found wanting in the discharge of their duties.

He gave the warning on Thursday during an unannounced visit to the Umaru Shehu Ultra Modern Hospital in Maiduguri.

He expressed disappointment with the staff’s attitude towards patients.

At the hospital’s emergency unit, Zulum told the staff that such behaviour would not be tolerated under his administration.

He said there were numerous complaints from the public against some staff of the hospital.

He emphasized the importance of providing quality healthcare services to the people and urged the staff to be more compassionate and diligent in their duties.

Senate President: Why Yari Is Best Man For The Job – EYLC

The Ethnic Youth Leaders Council of Nigeria (EYLC) has thrown its weight behind Zamfara West Senator-elect, Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari, to emerge Senate President in the next 10th National Assembly.

EYLC is apolitical, non-religious, multi-ethnic and egalitarian coalition of youth leaders in Nigeria.

The group further urged President Bola Tinubu to steer clear of the election of presiding officers for the 10th National Assembly as a Democrat, who will want democracy to thrive in Nigeria.

The Ethnic Youth Leaders Council of Nigeria (EYLC) wishes to announce that following a painstaking analysis of all the top aspirants for the Presidency of the 10th Senate, we reached the unassailable conclusion that Senator Abdul’aziz Abubakar Yari is the most eligible candidate to be our next Senate President. We therefore humbly implore the President and Commander-in-Chief, His Excellency Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu, to kindly steer clear of the politics of the National Assembly and allow the Federal Legislators to elect the various leaders of their choice, while appealing to all the distinguished members of the 10th Senate to cast their votes for Sen. Yari in the upcoming National Assembly Elections.
