Blackburn Rovers Battling Four Premier League Clubs For Scottish Starlet

Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Hamilton Academical starlet Ryan Oné and will battle it out with four Premier League clubs for the youngster’s signature, according to the Daily Mail.

Sheffield United, Brighton and Hove Albion, Nottingham Forest and Burnley are all keen to sign the teenage sensation and the Blades have even submitted an offer of £150,000 which was duly rejected by Hamilton.

Brighton have had the player on their radar for quite a while now but Sheffield United have invited the centre-forward to train with them for a few days. This trial period was set to begin today and will continue for the remainder of the week.

The newly-promoted side look clear favourites to sign the 17-year-old but Blackburn Rovers remain interested nonetheless and have a tremendous track record in recent seasons of bringing top young talent through the ranks.

For instance, midfield star Adam Wharton is already being linked with clubs such as Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Liverpool, according to The Sun, and has become an integral part of Jon Dahl Tomasson’s system at such a young age.

Oné, born in 2006, has made 36 appearances for Hamilton and recently scored his first league goal in a 2-0 away victory against Kelty Hearts in the Scottish League One.

With the window set to close in just a few days, Oné has a choice of five different clubs, although Hamilton will only accept an offer at the right price.

Blackburn Rovers have the lower ground in this battle given they are the only club from the five interested that are not currently in the Premier League.

However, given the club’s incredible youth system and progression pathway from the academy in the first-team, only Brighton can match the Riversiders, giving the Ewood Park club an edge over Burnley, Sheffield United and Nottingham Forest.
