President Tinubu may Not Consider northern senators who Wants the Sit of Senate majority leader: Source

According to a news that was published by the Vanguard Newspaper online this morning, it was reported that ahead of the resumption of the 10th Senate next Tuesday, various camps in the Senate have started battling to produce some of the remaining principal officers, as they are awaiting the nod of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
It was reported that it has to be done with the blessing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who returned to the country after official and private visits to Paris and London.

However, a top source, who spoke on the development, while speaking with Vanguard’s correspondent, said that the president may overlook the North in choosing who becomes the Senate majority leader.

The source, who spoke under the condition of anonymity said, “President Tinubu may overlook northern senators who are eyeing the position of Senate majority leader. Already, the fight for the position of Senate Majority Leader has polarised senators from the Northern and Southern regions, especially the South-West geopolitical zone, with the former insisting on producing the Senate Majority Leader.

”Further talking, the source said that the matter of who becomes the next Senate Majority leader, is becoming interesting as the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, is at a crossroads at the moment and awaiting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to instruct the Senator Abdullahi Adamu’s led National Working Committee, NWC, to send the names of those who will form the leadership to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio to announce during plenary upon resumption of the Senate.
