During the presidential election on February 25, the Labour Party (LP) and Peter Obi, its presidential candidate, presented the proof. The All Progressives Congress candidate Bola Tinubu was proclaimed the winner of the election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), but they are appealing that result.

The LP and Obi were represented by Onyechi Ikpeazu (SAN), counsel for the petitioners, during the Thursday hearing that was continued. The Senior Advocate informed the court at the beginning of the hearing that he intended to call mathematics expert Professor Eric Ofoedu as a witness to testify in the matter.

The letter requesting Professor Ofoedu for his opinion and the subpoena requiring him to appear in court were also recognized as evidence by the court.

The respondents in the lawsuit raised questions about the admissibility of these papers, including the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shettima, and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
