It’s no longer news that the President Bola Tinubu approved the retirement of all service chiefs, including the Inspector-General of Police from service. An Economist and Former Presidential candidate, Tope Fasua has alleged that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made decisive decisions in the last couple of weeks. He asserted that the brazen nature of Bola Tinubu could not be found in the former President, whom he claimed was unable to sack appointees of the PDP-led government when he came to power.

He also argued that the President is creating an environment full of new and fresh individuals that can enact a significant change in the system. He added that the issue of borrowing has been put on hold as the President intends to grow the revenue. According to him, the debt profile of Nigeria could be cleared before the year runs out if the plans works.

He said, ”Governance is about creativity, running and developing a country is about creativity. It is not just about resuming to work and carrying files up and down and paying salaries. You can see what Tinubu has done in just a few weeks, he sacked all the service chiefs in one fell swoop, and Buhari couldn’t sack PDP appointees in 2015. But Tinubu is saying let these guys go and rest. Let us bring in fresh blood into the system. The target is goal driven.”
