Festus Okoye, INEC National Commissioner, Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, said that he was watching TV one day and they (some lawyers) came out from the courtroom at the tribunal and they say, can you imagine, INEC is even objecting the certified copy issued by it.

Festus Okoye earlier on the program debunk that what the Labour Party said that they are using delay tactics by not providing them with document they requested is not true. He said since INEC is a constitutional body, they comply with what the court demand, but the drama that happens outside the courtroom, INEC is not interested in that. He said that’s because all those things are meant to maybe incite the public. Knowing well, that some people don’t understand the intricacies that happen in the courtroom.

He said example is, “I was watching TV one day, they stepped out of courtroom and say, can you imagine, INEC is even objecting certified copy issued by it, why are they objecting?” He said whereas those lawyers know that in law, they are allowed, they will just later give reason why they object it.
